Orienteering Course

You can learn to use a compass or a Global Positioning System (GPS) by following this map. Start at post 1 at the Trailhead at the rear of Lakeshore Park. Use the bearings or the GPS readings to find 13 different locations in the park. Look for a wooden post painted yellow at the top. On top of each post are directions to all of the other posts in the park.

A simple course for beginners is to use posts 1 through 4. More adventurous explorers can travel further into the park. Find all the 2 letter codes on each post and compare with your friends.

This course was installed in Novi's Lakeshore Park by Novi Boy Scout Troop 54 during June of 2004.
